tangled
i am reminded of electrical cords at home
tangled coat hangers, lost lines of code
so sometimes we disagree, we quarrel
our fingers will always meet again
our tangled hearts cannot tell
if it is really love, or pity.

Fingers and hearts will always meet again. I ponder the wondering if it is love or pity. I think love encompasses pity....or is it compassion? We are all such tender beings.
There is nothing worse than pity when you need love...
Maybe that's why we continue to lie.
Love the way you link the images of things that are easy to get crosswise just from use, especially in close quarters, with relationships. Does a momentary pity allow space for straightening a tangle?
Motivations are not always clear, are they? Interesting poem.
Sometimes the heart is confused, the fingers, never.
Sherry,
thank you!
and that's the beauty of being human as we are capable of having such a wide range of emotions...
Bjorn,
i think you nailed it there.
Chrissa,
perhaps it will. i would like to think so.
There’s so much that can become tangled. The untangling is worth the trouble. I love the lines:
‘our fingers will always meet again
our tangled hearts cannot tell
if it is really love, or pity’.
Susan,
No, i guess they are mostly not.
thanks for visiting! :)
MMT,
ah, you may be spot-on on this. :)
Kim,
thank you!
i agree, the untangling is worth the trouble.
Love the use of cords and codes tangled. Entanglement or intertwined, bonds or bondage, so many fine lines.
This is incredibly poignant!❤️ I gather we don't need pity and only yearn for love. It all depends how we play our cards.
I like the theme of being tangled. It seems life is often entangled in some way or another and it can sometimes bring us closer or distance us.
Gayle ~
Inspiring story there. What occurred after? Take care!
Colleen,
thank you! :)
Sanaa,
i liked what you said about "how we play our cards". :)
Bodhirose,
yes, it can bring us closer, though most will see otherwise.
thank you! :)
This kind of ambiguous togetherness is a tat scary (and, perhaps, much too common).
it is, i agree, and perhaps a bit hard to sort out... :(
It's simply the language of confused emotions...
Thank you, Eileen! :)
