On pouring rice grains into a plastic bin, or a metal bowl dropping onto the floor, and the contented pigeon cooing on my eaves, what chords are in the sounds?

() sounds


poetry is sometimes like that
you pulled some sounds out of noise
and it is some sweet music

i have a test cd, it warns
the low bass may damage your speakers
i am listening to a bass guitarist
her riffs toss and warm you
her low bass may damage your speakers
but wraps you in a cocoon of emotion.

it is the same with poetry
the deeper you go into your soul
the easier to reach insanity.

after a rain

It's hard to find some quiet in the city, but you can. You step out of the office, ignore the machines for a while, take a breather, a smoke. Read a book (yes a book, not a cell phone) in the train. Allow some time just for yourself. Solitude can refresh.

I wrote and posted this poem a few years back, on this blog. This poem was inspired by a song, November Rain.

after a rain



sometimes

i find joy
in solitude
but do not
mistaken it
for
loneliness

because

i hear
the quiet
of leaves
      falling
like dew

feel the ebb
of sea waves
caressing
      shifting sands
unwilling yet
to yield

and i
shelter
in the dark
like bats
      seeking
moonlight

waiting

the acrid
ash
of anger
to
sink to
an abyss

then
like a rush
of fresh wind
after
     a rain
face the world

again.

March kukai : Song

dsnake is surprised and happy. He thinks he's doing something right, because the haiku entry he submitted in haikuworld's March Free-Format kukai came in 5th spot out of 22, with 18 votes. Okay, this is not first place, but when the previous 2 entries weighed in with just 2 votes, you can understand his surprise.
