the wind will sweep me by your side

the wind will sweep me by your side
soon i will be but ashes
the wind will sweep me by your side.
through the distances, the ages
and our date no darkness can hide.
the gears of time will turn
the tears have since long dried.
galaxies will collide and burn
the wind will sweep me by your side
i wander from sea to steppes
where new stars will born and die
when light years are mere steps
the wind will sweep me by your side
the wind will sweep me by your side.
the wind will sweep me by your side.

This reads like a dirge. Bittersweet.
perhaps, Sumana, because it's about loss.
thank you. :)
This is very beautiful, Lee San. Some comfort in the thought of that reunion.
The loss of leaving has us clinging to hope... but at least we know the stars still will be staying.
I agree--this is bittersweet, but it's beautiful, too. Something to listen to as the image shows, at night, staring at infinity.
I like the realness of this poem, the acceptance of reality as it is.
A very say piece in lingering memories... well written.

Love this! It has a haunting mystical quality (probably due, in part, to a particularly deft use of repetition). Beautiful word weaving … wonderful writing.
Amazing how the years pass! The love and longing don't. Ah well, what else should one do but make poetry of it?
But I believe it, that past the blinding light, in the darkness, the possibility of being side by side--and knowing it--still exists.
Sherry,
ah, the thought of that reunion... :)
Bjorn,
it's that hope that keeps us going on. :)
Chrissa,
are you referring to the song? it's an old classic Chinese song.
thank you. :)
Lovely way to say "until we meet again."
Mary,
thank you.
"the acceptance of reality", yes, a way of looking at it. :)
ZQ,
thank you! :)
Wendy,
thanks!
the repetition works! :)
Oh this reads like a soothing, peaceful and melancholy song 💖 Beautifully penned.
Rosemary,
oh yes, how the years pass, but it is indeed a deep well to draw from for poetry. :)
Susan,
thank you for the comment. it's that possibility of being side by side that gives one the courage to continue on.
Sad longing words of loss and hope of reunion.
Let the wind sweep you by her side.
Anna :o]
Vicki,
thanks for the visit to my blog.
the poem's a long-winded way of saying that, eh? :)
Sanaa,
thank you, glad that it reads like a song. :)
Anna,
thank you!
yes, hope. :)
