how is your maths today?

So, I overheard...
If you read the picture upside down, it answers the question...

digital sketch by dsnake1 with Sketchpad 5.1

how is your maths today?

a schoolboy was talking to his friend.
how is your maths today?

i wanted to tell him it's terrible.
it just doesn't add up.

i am spending more than i earned

i am supposed to work eight hours
but today it's something like nine.
or ten.

and no extra pay.

so my maths ain't too good today.

and it's gonna get complicated

taxi fares has gone bonkers
train and bus fares have drifted north
electricity tariffs are going up again
after how many agains.
inflation rate is only 5.2%

so my maths ain't too good today.

I can read upside down, so the artwork made me laugh, and so did your back comment about the numbers on the box.

But sadly I must agree with the clever poem. Around here our maths is pretty bad too.

It's a world-wide problem, though sadly that doesn't stop certain politicians from claiming otherwise to further their grasp on power.

Sara,

Thank you!
I studied Applied Maths and Pure Maths (was'nt good in both) in school but have no use for them in my working life.
😁 yeah, turn that puzzle upside down.

magiceye,

Thank you!
Still nothing seems to add up nowadays. 😆

Rommy,

Sorry I missed your earlier comment.

I think a higher cost of living is a monster waiting to escape its cage. Probably it has escaped already and the trick is to make it sit down. :)

I had an intense urge to rap this poem.

Also, the upside down bit made me roar. Yep, I'm rather easily amused.

Haha! Rap it? Maybe, add some rhymes, count some syllables? It could just work.
The upside down bit is fun, isn't it? Got the idea from calculator displays. 😁
