heels
This poem is one of the earliest (if not the earliest) picture prompts I tried when I started to go online. It is so old I forgot about the written date, probably in 2005. 😮

Okay, i don't mind the bad hair wig,
even the blood red lipstick
the tiny tiny black tube top
and the oh-so-short leather skirt.
you need someone to play a vamp
in some silly stage show
but the straw that broke my back
was these heels.
why must they be in red?
i quit!

I like them! I just had a camp out and we told scary stories around the fire. Mine were of a pair of red shoes that walked by themselves!

Different women can get away with different components of that look. I *might* wear a short skirt, with leggings under it and a full-sized trench coat over it, but NEVER built-up heels in public. Strictly in the bedroom!
(Though I did once wear a hooker costume to a party, carry the hooker heels and put them on inside, and dance in them. Because, at 24, I could.)
I wrote a poem years ago about Red Shoes that was published in a friend's chapbook. To this day it remains one of my favorite efforts .... I love your early edition poem.
OK that was 17 years ago when you were young and difficult. I don't see why you should mind the shoes now unless you have to wear them yourself LOL

We always remember our favourite efforts.
I remembered it was a photo prompt from a website, and the picture was a pair of red stiletto heels. They were going to publish the best entries on their site. I did the poem, but didn't submit it in the end.

Now i am old but still difficult. :)
i think I am okay with picture prompts. This is the first one I have done (as far as i can remember) and i wrote the poem from the view of a female. I like picture prompts and i have done a bunch during my time at a poetry forum. :)
I only shashay on red heels at a shoe store when I feel like having a laugh. I did have a pair of red flats that was fun to wear. :-)
Your writer just hurt himself when he quit. Have you bought a pair of sport shoes lately. They are horribly bright, would he no longer run or play golf.

I am thinking of getting a pair of sports shoes lately. mainly for walks and running. The colours of the shoes over here are more sober.
