A diary of the lockdown

During the country's 56 days of the 'circuit breaker' lockdown I managed to keep a 'diary' of the event. There were opinions, rants, humour, pictures of my home-cooked meals, and short poetry. Below, I have chosen 5 short poetry from the period. If you want to read all the stuff, the whole nine yards, click HERE. It is a long read but should be interesting. 😁

Day 46

Ain't it good to be alive.

Day 23 : No chance to go back there for a holiday.
Day 24 : An American sentence.
Day 43 : Really nicked my finger preparing food.
Day 46 : Recently found from my old journals. Pretty appropriate now.
Day 51 : I was at a hospital for a scan when i wrote this.

Now that the lockdown is over, remember, places are opening because of the economy. Not because it is safe. Take care.

These are rather evocative glimpses into everyday life, Lee San! I especially relate to the nicked finger. Had a couple of incidences in the kitchen haha 💘

It seems unfair doesn't it when a crisis like this comes, poets like us revel in the opportunity to write even more!

Helen,

thank you!
it's just a journal for the duration of the lockdown.
#46 is an old work 'rescued' from old scraps of paper while doing spring cleaning during the lockdown. :)

Sanaa,

you too? :D

Robin,

It is. perhaps there is more time, more anger, more subjects to write about. :)

Ha ha, maybe you think I was referring to Rajani's 'Thotpurge' pieces. I dip in from time to time, and I think they are marvellous!

It's your own 'artful snippets' I meant in this instance, and that I'll be reading your whole lockdown diary (probably not all at once). And I do know I won't be disappointed!

Returning to it, I should say, as I already read some of the earlier entries.

This is a wonderful idea! I think I was in denial at first (it'll just be a few weeks...) to do more than note in the margin of other stories what was going on. I love the one pulled from your notebook in the midst of the glimpses of the days.

Excellent idea. A journal is such a good and practical way to keep a record of these unreal times. :-)

Greetings from London.

Whew! That "HERE" page looks spammy! "Your computer is infected with five viruses." How many of them did the scammers install, themselves?! I'm guessing you took down what was posted there and the scammers moved into an empty site?

Thank you, Priscilla.

I have checked the link on "HERE" and it goes to my other blog's URL. It did not go to any external link. I clicked on the link and it goes to all the posts with "circuit breaker shutdown" labels.

You have a "Your computer is infected with five viruses" prompt? That's strange because the links are all within Blogger.
