Interesting art!
A most unusual poem. It did however, make me want an orange!!
Love this, from the image through the disappearing orange to the hope of a tree. This is the season (here in coastal Texas) for pine trees sprouting from the sidewalks, along the paths, in the herb garden...seeing the teeny tops of what could be such tall trees makes me smile.
Clever. I like that.
Sadly, there is wastage of food everywhere in the world .. some areas more than the others.
Very clever! But I don't see that as waste, exactly.
Ashok,
thank you! :)
indybev,
oranges are good. :)
Chrissa,
yes, to see those teeny tops grow into majestic trees.. :)
Anthony,
Thank you! :)
Sanaa,
that's true, especially in developed countries, like ours.. :(
Rosemary,
no, this poem is not exactly about waste, but i was thinking about the amount of stuff our people throw away after the lunar new year. pussy willows (festive occasion over), potted plants (wilted, really those are not meant to be potted), mandarin oranges (rotten, over bought). and so on. :(
Humans really are so stupid when greed and waste are our cornerstones now. Sadly those that will suffer with be our childrena and grandchildren who may not think of us kindly!
Sadly we do waste food.
If only I could grow an orange tree in my garden...
Anna :o]
Robin,
food will be a big issue in the future. :(
Anna,
we do. :(
try other fruits?
Scary to realize how much we waste..
Indeed! i think the main culprits are the supermarkets and restaurants. :(
Many supermarket fruits and vegetables are hybrids (if not GMO) and don't produce viable seeds, but you never know...I feel my next "poem" coming on. Thank you for the idea.
Priscilla,
Thank you!
Our country depends a lot on imports, so yeah, i guess we have no choice, but we have a very good food inspectorate that checks every food coming into the country, whether fresh or packed.
I went to read your 'Ogden Nash' poem, and it's not actually bad. :)
