dark side of the moon, part #3
adjust your eyes to the night awhile. the long line of street lights, they are zombies coming out to play.
do not touch that empty plastic bag rolling, flailing across the zebra crossing. do you feel any wind?
no flowering trees around, but a scent of frangipani? and that lady just ahead, is she waiting for a taxi?
2018, or thereabouts

Luv the mystery stirred up by your questioning mind during your morning walk Cheong Lee san
Happy Sunday
much love...
Gillena,
thank you, and have a Happy Sunday!
there shouldn't be such thoughts on an early morning walk. ๐
Okay, this feels like the intro to a creepy trio of short stories or films that filter all those shadows. Changes in light levels change the feeling of even familiar streets.
Liked the images you conjured up for us, and the questions, especially the comparison of the street lights to zombies. Not a very calm morning walk.
A stroll around the neighborhood will never be the same again. I used to bring my coffee on walks, or some sort of fruit I could just bite into. These days, I go for walks while reminding myself not to touch my face. Tomorrow, I will probably think of zombies... and lethal bags in the wind (I hope you are happy! ๐คช
Woww!!! I love the atmosphere you have created in this one, Lee San. ๐๐
Really enjoyed each of these ....
Idle thoughts on a twilight city walk. Watch out for the lady up ahead!!
Atmospheric and evocative! It reads as if written today, with the fear of touching that plastic bag and the uncertainty about the loitering lady.
Chrissa,
๐
yes, changes in light levels can change the feeling of familiar streets. shadows play a part too.
Namratha,
no, it is not a very calm morning walk. :)
Magaly,
haha! ๐
usually i don't go for such early morning walks (say, 5 a.m.) but it is really refreshingly different. well, that day the shadows look pretty menacing.
ever since the lockdown, i go for late evening walks and jogs.
Sanaa,
thank you! ๐
Helen,
thank you ! ๐
Beverly,
yes, in our south-east asian ghost stories, always watch out for a lonely lady in the middle of the night. it is always not what it seems. ๐ฑ
Rosemary, now that you said it, it reads as if written for today's fears. :)
This reminds me of walking home many years ago when there were no street lights with my imagination going wild!
This is deliciously dark! Itโs very cinematographic and appeals to the senses. I especially like the โempty plastic bag rolling, flailing across the zebra crossingโ and the question that makes the hair stand up on the back the neck โdo you feel any wind?โ
Robin,
no street lights is really scary. :)
Kim,
Thank you!
glad you find it cinematographic. :)
Loved the evoked visuals!
Early morning walks can certainly seem otherworldly.. Thanks for taking us along on yours
magiceye,
