perhaps it is not just the miles travelled
Have we travelled so far already? I do not count the miles because I love you. But sometimes I cannot fathom your heart, it is a deep well with water as dark as black glass. An unfinished poem. Or it is just like the streets we walked. Cold, alien and heartbroken. Streets awashed with dangers on a warm night, the light of the moon useless.
Some days my heart just crumbles and turns to ashes. Perhaps it is not just the miles travelled, but how.

This is really good! I like the idea that miles don't mean anything when one really loves someone. I agree it is perhaps not just the miles travelled, but how. I wish you a rewarding journey!
not the way or the why but the how. I really like the narrative here
I read this, read it again...that image of the unfinished poem and the broken streets brings me to times when it was easier to stare at the floor than anywhere else...it's heartbreaking.
This is most beautiful, poignant, and wise. Those closing lines are profound. Lovely to read you, always, Lee San.
It is never the distance or even where... it's how you have traveled... I love the thought.
An impactful, authentic and (I think for many) a relatable piece.
'sometimes I cannot fathom your heart, it is a deep well with water as dark as black glass' a stunning line of poetry - visceral and haunting.
Awesome writing.
Sometimes the journey is not measured in miles - the depth of the journey can be far reaching.
Beautifully expressed.
Mary,
Thank you!
I was doing a lot of thinking lately, how my next route might go and so on.
Laura,
thank you!
Chrissa,

Sherry,

Bjorn,
thank you. suddenly i was enlightened… :)
Wendy,
thank you. i think some (maybe more) will find the poem relatable.
Truedessa,
yes, the depth of the journey. :)
Rosemary,
thank you! :)
I can't even begin to describe how wonderfully poignant and heart stirring this is!!
I do believe we have met before.
That is love - we go the distance -
Sanaa,
thank you, i liked “heart stirring”. :)
Whitesnake,
yeah bro, but i can’t put a fang to it… :)
Margaret,
yes, love goes the distance.
I love the passion emanating out of the words, the way the speaking speaks of how difficult the relationship is, still... he's not going anywhere. Some things just aren't easy (all the time), but we stay around in order to enjoy the moments (the nows) that make the rest worth our while.
Magaly, thank you for your lovely comment!
i was writing about a difficult relationship, and maybe there are things not done right along the way...
