Sometimes, while working late at nights, your imagination can run...dark.

i think it sits
in a dark corner
of the office,
a lone grey shadow
quietly shifting,
perhaps it was the lights
perhaps i have watched
one too many
japanese horror movies,
they have the effect
of making you afraid
of
bathrooms
mirrors
baseball bats
and i can't wait
to walk off
into the warm night.

I love this one! I am scared of the bathroom mirror myself I watched way too many horror flicks as a kid and I can't go into the bathroom without the light. After The Ring I was so scared I made my husband follow me everywhere lol
thank you, mindlovemisery.
The Ring was a classic. Asian horror shows made bathroom mirrors scary. :)
I really enjoyed this poem. Think we have all had that late night eerie kind of feeling.
Glad you could make it! Warm nights are kind of dangerous too. No inclement weather to discourage the predators lurking under cover of darkness. Interesting that walking into a warm night was the balm to relieve your unfounded fear.
nice...the mind does start playing tricks on you man...when you have been working too long...and def the stories/movies...they add that tickle in the corner of our brain that our imagination jumps on...ha...
Love this! I like watching films that scare me silly and my imagination does run wild for a time...

When I was working in SGH, there were stories about working the nightshift. Even in the day, there's sometimes the feeling of "presence".
And yes, there's a lot of movies that play with large mirrors having strange reflection.. large bathroom mirrors especially! :D
Lisa,
we all do. :)
thank you!
Stormcat,
yes, walking out into the night, with all the traffic and noise, would alleviate the fear. :)
Brian,
yes, sometimes when i am working too long hours.
"that tickle in the corner of our brain". -- i like that! :)
Anna,
thanks!
it's strange. we know it scares us, yet still go on to watch those horror shows. :)
Liz,
hospitals always have their "stories". and, oh yes, mirrors. :D
Luckily I don't watch horror movies and never seen a Japanese one.
