fourteen words
rain,
always,
on someone's
funeral,
but
not as cold
as the night
you
left.

Fourteen words about love ~~~ a brilliant write!!!
Few things in life are more satisfying than a loved ones touch that needs no words.
Such a deep sadness in these words Beautifully written
Oh, that first 14 words gave my heart a pang, and brought sudden tears to my eyes. Exquisite use of the economy of words! The second 14, though it has the heartache too, softens that a little with the warmth and tenderness of the specific memory. Beautifully done, altogether.
Those are beautiful.
you have captured the emotions so neatly! Jae
Helen,
Thank you! 😀
Penelope,
Yes, sometimes the touch of a loved one is enough.
Marja,
Thank you! 😀
Rosemary,
'Fourteen" in our dialect can sound like "misfortune" so it is quite appropriate for this poem, and yes, it can be read as a love poem.
I am glad the poem can move the reader.
Priscilla,
Thank you! 😀
Jae,
Thank you! 😀
Wow, so poignant and profound
Thank you, Vanderloost! 😀
I like especially your last three lines, "her hand in mine:"

Jim,
