path

We are making choices every instant, sometimes we are not even aware of it because it has become a "habit" or the things we do have become so mundane we hardly bothered. Sometimes we are faced with big decisions (read choices). Buying a house. Uprooting and emigrating. Marriage. A choice that can have a big impact on your life

This poem is about choice, or rather how someone can influence it.

I am posting this for the prompt at dVerse.

path

were it
not
for
you
coming
to me
on one
sweet summer's night
(
my path would have been lined with knives
(
no soothsayer would
i need
to tell
me
how
my
world
would collide.

Ashok,

thank you!

Brian,

thanks for visiting. i was writing from my experience, and it was a "what if" type of scenerio that i wanted to convey.

thanks for the suggestion to post at dVerse's open link night. :)

Ravenblack,

did the word "knives" give you a clue? :)

i am not posting much lately, the work in the office is knocking me out.

the whole poem is cool, but this line nails it:

my path would have been lined with knives
