Poem inspired by a song - November Rain

This is a poem inspired by a song. Guns N' Roses' November Rain.

It is one of those songs that when you listen to it twenty years down the road, it will still be as fresh as ever. I don't know, that's how I like it. Listen to the piano intro, maybe the reason's there. This is one of the songs in my hi-fi if I need to be alone for a while.

It's the tail end of October and the rain is coming down hard these two days. Which is a good thing, as it will clear the air of that choking haze.

Guns N' Roses -- November Rain

after a rain

sometimes

i find joy
in solitude
which is
not to say
i crave
loneliness
but

i hear
the quiet
of leaves
     falling
like tears

feel the ebb
of sea waves
caressing
     shifting sands
unwilling yet
to yield

and i
shelter
in the dark
like bats
     seeking
moonlight

waiting

the acrid
ash
of anger
to
sink to
an abyss

then
like a rush
of fresh wind
after
     a rain
face the world

again.

November Rain by Guns&Roses was a true masterpiece. It had a whole orchastra in the background and all.

hey, LOVE this post and this poem is beautiful indeed. Also, I'm sure almost everyone on this planet has heard of THAT song. Impossible not to love it, I absolutely love the tortured guitar strains near the end of the song, the entire melody is stirring and blissful. Puts you in such a soulful sad mood, but in a nice way innit? :)

Who can forget November Rain?? One of my favs that I used to play over and over again when I listen to GNR.

And I feel I can identify with your poem so much.. esp the line about craving to be alone but not loneliness...

I think this must be your best so far, it is raining here in Kluang and that helps a lot with clearing the haze and bringing down the psi
