birds

sometimes we wish we can fly...

birds

once it was
archaeopteryx
because i was
younger then
and i was intrigued
by it's deathly shadow
frozen in limestone
but now it is
the free seagull
of the waves
and blue skies
because you
sang of them.

I do love the move from raptor to seagull... maybe we learn the value of freedom.

Interests change. So many kids are fascinated with the prehistoric, but as adults we would rather see birds soar!

I had to look up "archaeopteryx" and chuckled throughout the piece. .. you chose to fly what a good choice for a "archaeopteryx" hehe
Excellent reading for me, as all my visits.

Mary,

i do agree with you about kids interested in prehistoric stuff. :)

ZQ,

never too late to learn. :)
when one views its fossil, one will be intrigued. no more a lizard, not yet a bird.
