my coffee will surely cost more

National Day is just around the corner, but this poem seems a bit unpatriotic.I wrote this a couple of months back.

my coffee will surely cost more

in the grey dawn
walking across an empty parking lot
my face has taken on
the colour of a storm.

it used to be
i wear your red and white on my heart
and i had loved you
but i am not too sure any more.

a plastic bag tumbles
in the early morning wind like a useless promise
in two weeks my coffee
will surely cost more.

this poem was written in response to an impending goods and services tax hike.

I'm not sure it's the tax raising we mind so much, as it is the idiots raising the taxes. probably both.

If you have tasted Kluangs Railway Station Coffee, you wont mind if it cost a little more....but it will still be cheaper than Singapore, Happy National Day and Happy Holiday, dear friend!!!

I feel your frustration-grrr! especially through that descriptive phrase "my face has taken on the colour of a storm."

I am sure I left a comment. Coffee dissolved it?

At Barista, it costs a fortune. And I don't like it much either.
