on cleaning my storeroom, a gecko..
Of course the storeroom didn't get much of a cleaning. That's to be expected when poetry got in the way.

gecko
it waddles
on
the
dust
coated
wall
defying
gravity
taking its sweet
sweet
time
then
it turns
its head
its black
beady eyes seem to say
l o o k
we survive
millions of
years
you
reptile
and
i could only
get angry
and
wave
my rolled up
newspaper
at it.

i couldn't cling on to the wall like that smart ass...
D- I love this! I can feel him crawling from your visual representation and words. Guess he distracted you from cleaning?
gel,
thank you!
nah, it was just an excuse to get away from cleaning. :)
you did more than wave a paper
you produced a great illustration
(in both senses)
cheers
I usually leave geckos alone, afterall they eat flies and other flying pests. The only irritation is that they leave dropping behind sometimes.
But a roach -- a roach must die on sight.

floots,
i thought the words forming a shape of a lizard is pretty cool. :)
thanks!
Liz,
poor roach!
call in the Society for Prevention Of Roach Extinction!
umm, just kidding, i attack roaches on sight too.
This was as much fun to look at as it was to read. :)
andrew,
thanks!
i was trying to write a light-hearted poem, but i am usually lousy at it.
guess this time is okay. :)
I hate gecko but like the wisdom told here.
In the climate like ours, we have too many of those.
Nice one brother, but I have to agree with Liz, a roach must die on sight.
